There is some damage to the porcelain on the edges, around the mounting holes, and a few nicks and scratches throughout. The sign has great gloss, and color! OLD ORIGINAL SIX FOOT. RED CROWN GASOLINE POLARINE MOTOR OIL SINGLE SIDED PORCELAIN THERMOMETER SIGN DATED 1915. This is called the Nebraska Version it is the HARDEST TO FIND AND MY OPINION THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF THE VARIOUS VERSIONS. Seriously this is the best Ive ever seen, you would be hard pressed to find a better one, its not mint but very very clean. Before 1920 was called the pig iron era of porcelains, which just means they were NOT concerned with cleanliness of the metal, the thermometer shows two places which Ive tried to show in photos. These are very common in signs before 1920. 74×20 or close with original frame, Ill state right here I replaced the bottom of the frame, matched front and dated the back.
