1920’s Shell Motor Oil Double Sided 25 Porcelain Metal Sign – ORIGINAL. Up for your consideration is an original Pre-War Shell Motor Oil porcelain sign. It is double sided and measures 25″ x 25″ at the widest points. There is the usual paint loss from age. Note the 3-dimensional nature of the hand painting in the closeup. Overall this sign is quite nice compared to other original Shell signs I’ve seen of this type. The sign will be sent fully insured. UP FOR SALE IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY SCARCE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE VINTAGE 1940s – 1950s ERA (SUNOCO – SUN OIL COMPANY) GAS STATION GASOLINE & MOTOR OIL SERVICE STATION DOUBLE SIDED PORCELAIN ADVERTISING SIGN WHICH MEASURES OVER 11′ FEET WIDE X 52 INCHES HIGH. THE SIGN INSIDE OF THE RING MEASURES 8′ FEET X 4′ FEET BUT THE ARROW ON BOTH SIDES MAKES THE SIGN 134 INCHES WIDE. THE RING ON THIS SIGN IS MASSIVE WITH A 4″ INCH WIDE EDGE AND MEASURES 125″ ACROSS X 52 HIGH!! GREAT VINTAGE CONDITION SHOWING NORMAL SIGNS OF USAGE AND WEAR WHICH IS APPROPRIATE WITH THE AGING PROCESS!!! THE SIGN HAS GREAT NATURAL VINTAGE PATINA AND CHARACTER!!!
