This is for an original Conoco Motor oil porcelain sign with original frame and has a base not sure if base is original. Sign has numerous chips and some holes as shown but still a rare and displayable piece especially with the frame and base. I won’t pack either as I woudn’t have a box that could fit the sign and the pole and base. I have offers to cut the base or pole off. Base is not the original to the sign. Here is a beautiful 1930’s Restored POLARINE MOTOR OIL Porcelain Sign, with its ” original” perfect working thermometer. The porcelain shows outstanding original color and gloss finish everywhere…. (it was never clear coated). A New Wooden Frame was professionally made for it, and it was duplicated from the original frame…. And it really looks awesome. The frame measures about 72 inches high x 18 inches wide. There were some chips, around the edges…. They were color matched, and touched up so well that you can’t really notice them, unless I pointed them out to you. I tried to show some “close up” pictures of the touched up chips, but they would not show up in my pictures. The tin sign is green as shown, it has a black wood frame around it. Below “The Cream” letters it has a slight bend in the tin & around “could speak” there are scratches that can be seen in the above pictures. The black wood frame also has scratches and scuffs on it. The sign is approx. 73″ x 37″ x 2-1/2 D. UNKNOWN WHEN THIS SIGN WAS PRODUCED. IF ITS A REPRODUCTION. Please view detailed pictures, the sign is in nice condition for it’s age. It has been is. Our personal collection for over 20 plus years, kept indoors and hung on the wall. The sign does have chips in the paint, missing paint, scuffs, scratches, bent corners and other blemishes but over all it would look great hanging inside your home, shop or man cave. Looks to have been touched up in spots. Please understand with the age of these signs and general use most of these were kept outdoors and exposed to the elements of mother nature. Rare Vintage Tin Metal Valvoline Motor Oil Sign Wood Frame 62 x 33 Pre 1930’s

Great colors on this rare Valvoline sign. I could not find another like it. I do not know for sure when it was made. I do not see a date on it and have not and will not take it out of the frame to see if there’s one underneath. This was found in a local oil distributors warehouse hidden in the rafters. He kept the sign in better condition and has it on display and will not sell it. Mainly signs from the 50’s thru 80’s. It’s in as found condition and could use a better cleaning with soap and water. The wood does have some wear here and there. I assume the only way to hang this is drill thru the wood frame or install wire across the back. I see no evidence of it being hung previously or touch ups. It appears to be painted. I’m not 100% sure. I included a picture at an angle (close up “P”) to help you determine for yourself. Appears they painted the base, then letters, then went around the letters in black to clean it up. If additional pictures are required, feel free to ask. My zip code is CA 93306. About 2.5 hours north of Los Angeles. If paid, I will hold the sign until you are able to pick it up. The weight of the sign and frame is 12.4 lb. It’s 62″ x 33″. If I need to bubble wrap or?
