Vintage 1960s Valvoline Racing Motor Oil Gas Station Garage 30 Metal Sign WOW! This authentic colorful vintage Valvoline Racing Oil sign from the 1960s is perfect for a garage wall or workshop. It is made of steel with mounting holes, and huge 30 inches in diameter. There are scratches as shown in the detailed photos, but overall a very well preserved 50+ year old sign that will appreciate in value through the years. The back side originally had the same Valvoline artwork, but was painted over to direct spectator traffic for a racing event at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota during the CanAm or TransAm series (see last photo). Magnify the area in the midpoint of the “P” in the word “Spectators” to see a small portion of the red “V” for “Valvoline” showing through, and if you look closely at the bottom, you can see the outline of the checkered flags showing through. The paint on the back side could probably be removed to reveal the Valvoline artwork underneath if you have the expertise and time, but it is ready to be hung on a wall as is.
